Born to the late Peter James Williams, Sr. and Lily Christine Williams on July 24, 1952 in Bennettsville, SC. Peter transitioned to his heavenly home on May 2, 2023 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC surrounded by his loving family. He received his education in the Marlboro County Public School System before graduating in 1971. He held various jobs in the early years to include school bus driver, landscaper and put in 11 years at JP Stevens. He landed a position at CSX on April 8, 1981 and retired on August 10, 2012 after more than 30 years of faithful service. Peter was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Mrs. Janice B. Williams; grandson, Nafee Smith; sisters, Carolyn Lloyd and Christine Johnson; brother, Jeremiah Williams. Peter leaves a legacy of loved ones that will miss him immensely and cherish his fondest memories forever: his children, that were always first and foremost in his heart: Wade Williams (Ella), Dunn, NC; Daria Walker (Thomas), Warner Robins, GA; Natasha Smith, Hyattsville, MD and Felicia Williams (Dana), Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, that he loved spending time with and learning new things from: Michael Anthony Williams, Khyra Larkin (Desmond); Nalaya Smith, Khenon Walker, Landon and Laydon Williams; great grandchildren: Nahla Smith, Nyelle Smith, Naazir Nelson and Alana Huertas; his sisters: Debbie Dease and Gene McLaurin (Edward); his brothers, John Williams (Eva), Neremiah Williams, Randy Williams, Andrew Williams, David Williams (Nicole), Gregory David and Steven Williams (Alfreda); sister-in-law, Jeanette Sweat-Williams; aunts, Mary Williams and Bessie Bright; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, May 7, 2023- 3:00 p.m. at Berea Baptist Association Convention Center- 1061 Highway 38 South -Bennettsville, SC 29512 with burial at Aaron Temple United Methodist Church Cemetery- Bennettsville, SC.
