Mrs. Nell Frances Kenley was born in Bennettsville, South Carolina located in Marlboro County. She was the daughter of the late Lila Hughes Brown and Frances Brown. Her birth took place on March 6, 1932. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Kenley, Sr. and her son, Thomas Kenley, Jr. She was educated in the public schools of Marlboro County. Her educational background placed her working in the field of education. She retired from McColl Elementary School located in McColl, SC. Early in life she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a lifelong dedicated member of St. Michael United Methodist Church in Bennettsville. There she was a member of the United Methodist Women and served as the Treasurer. She would often be referred to as "Mrs. St. Michael". Her marriage took place on September 25, 1949 to Thomas Kenley, Sr. and they were blessed with two sons. She was a lovely person and anyone who spent time in her presence received a blessing of Godly wisdom. On November 9, 2023 while at her home, Nell Frances Kenley responded to the voice of God only she was able to hear calling her from labor to reward. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, but not limited to: her dedicated son, Rondal Duron Kenley, Sr. (Davida), Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren and great grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Carol Kenley, Conway, SC; special niece, Carolyn Gillespie and special nephew, Luther Brown both of Bennettsville, SC; along with a host of other nieces, nephews and close relatives. A special friend and neighbor, Eddie Mae Eilum, Bennettsville, SC as well as her church family that will miss her dearly. A celebration of life will be held on November 17, 2023-12:00 Noon at Quick's Funeral Home Chapel -118 Robeson Street- Bennettsville, SC 29512 with interment afterwards at the National Veteran Cemetery in Florence, South Carolina. Everyone in attendance is asked to wear facial masks and exercise social distancing.
