Mrs. Maddalena Rosa was born in Sicily, Italy on October 25, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Maria Saliba Vindigni and John Vindigni. She was affectionately and lovely called "Mama Lena". She immigrated to the United States in 1944. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Salvatore Rosa and her son, Ralph Rosa. The majority of her life was lived in Brooklyn, New York where she was a formidable fashion coordinator. She moved to North Carolina in the year 2014 to be close to her family. Mama Lena loved to knit and would make scarfs and hats for everyone she knew. To be in her presence was truly an awe inspiring experience. She immediately made you feel welcomed in her home. She would always say, "Please have something to eat." She was an excellent cook and her food was made with love. On Saturday, August 19, 2023 while in the comfort of her home in Waxhaw, North Carolina surrounded by her loving family, "Mama Lena" responded to the call of God from this earthly life to eternal reward, after 94 years of life. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, but not limited to: her daughter and loving caregiver, Nancy Falcone; her grandsons, Thomas Falcone and Salvatore Falcone; her granddaughters, Elizabeth Rosa and Jessica Rosa; her great grand-daughter, Ava Rose Rosa; along with other close relatives and friends who will miss this sweet woman's spirit.
