Joseph Clayton Kinney

Mr. Joseph Clayton Kinney affectionately known as "Joe" was born in Marlboro County, SC on October 17, 1950. He was the son of the late Gertrude McCrimmon Kinney and Chester Kinney. He graduated from Lincoln High School in the class of 1968. He was employed during his lifetime for the State of South Carolina at the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). He also once worked at the Dialysis Center in Bennettsville, SC. Mr. Kinney once served as the Mayor of the town of Clio. On June 1, 2021 while at McLeod Health Dillon in Dillon, SC. Joseph C. Kinney transitioned from labor to reward. He leaves to cherish his memories, but not limited to: his loving wife, Jerretta Kinney of the home in Clio, SC; his son, Jerrold Kinney, Charlotte, NC; his daughter, Alesia Kinney, Columbia, SC; one brother, Kenneth Kinney (Bernice), Columbia, SC; two sisters, Evelyn Harris (Ernesto), Los Angeles, CA and Christine Hailey (George McKenzie), Clio, SC; a host of other close relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Graveside service will be held Monday, June 7, 2021- 1:30 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hebron Dunbar area of Clio, SC.
