Mr. Johnnie Thomas Williams was born in Marlboro County, SC the son of the late Irene Moore Williams and Fred Douglas Williams. His birth took place on June 15, 1951. Early in life he accepted Christ as his Savior and attended Fletcher Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member. He was educated in the public schools of Marlboro County, SC. He graduated from Adamsville High School located in the Adamsville Community of Marlboro County. Johnnie was a person who loved sports, especially basketball along with fishing and hunting. He was a person who loved helping others in any way that he could. He retired from Galey and Lord in Society Hill, SC after 35 years of employment there. He departed this life while in Florence, SC at the McLeod Hospice House on June 21, 2021. He leaves to cherish his loving memories, but not limited to: his three daughters, Marilyn Pegues (Greg), Laurinburg, NC; Arlether Henryhand (Samuel), Columbia, SC and Michelle Shuler (Sylvester), Orangeburg, SC; two sons, Cedrick and Calvin Terrell Williams both of Laurinburg, NC; his brothers, Fred Williams, Jr. (Min. Patricia); John L. Williams (Virginia), George Williams (Corine) and Reginald Williams all of McColl, SC; his sisters, Gerotha W. Norman (George) and Virginia Williams both of McColl, SC and Irish Williams, Rock Hill, SC; a very special companion, Margaret Richardson, Chesterfield, SC; nieces, nephews, other close relatives and friends who will miss him. Service will be held Sunday, June 27, 2021- 2:00 p.m. at Berea Baptist Convention Center on Hwy 38 in Bennettsville, SC 29512 with burial in the Berea Memorial Gardens. Everyone in attendance is asked to wear face masks and exercise social distancing.
