James Lee Thomas, Sr.

James Lee Thomas, Sr. was born in Bennettsville, SC the son of the late Marie T. Plato and Horace Brunson. He was educated in the public schools of Marlboro County, SC. Throughout his life, James was employed doing janitorial and grounds keeping. He was a friendly person and cared about his community. He had a great love for his family and friends. On January 31, 2022 while at MUSC Medical Center in Florence, SC he transitioned from his earthly existence. He leaves to cherish his loving memories, but not limited to: his wife, Linda Thomas, Washington, DC; his son, James Lee Thomas, Jr., Washington, DC; grandchildren: Myra Cowser, Malik Cowser, Maliki Cowser, Antonio Gorman and Gennise Gorman; great grandchildren, Ti'miya Morgan, Antonio Gorman, Jr., Mi'yana Cowser and Ahihah Cowser; his sister, Prophotess Magalene Purvis (Bishop Robert), Bennettsville, SC; stepson, Troy Thomas, Washington, DC; nieces, nephews , other close relatives and friends. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, February 5, 2022- 1:00 p.m. at Word of Life Memorial Garden on Beauty Spot Rd. Bennettsville, SC. Everyone in attendance is asked to wear face masks and exercise social distancing.
