Rev. Isabella Canty Anderson was born on February 23, 1935 in Marlboro County, SC to the late Cleo B. James Canty and Arthur A. Canty, Sr. She moved to Brooklyn, NY at the age of 18 where she served as a housekeeper to a prominent doctor for 15 years before she was employed by the state. Her marriage was to the late James N. Henderson. She was a member of New Cannon Missionary Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY where she served faithfully for 50 years until her health failed. Eight siblings preceded her in death: Arthur Jr., Willie, Mary Lee, Richard, Lindberg, Issac, Rebecca and Emma Jane. She departed this life in Covington, GA on December 29, 2023 after a period of illness. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, but not limited to: two sisters, Mazzie S. McKiver, Bennettsville, SC; Creo B. Canty, Brooklyn, NY; her sister-in-law, Lucy Canty, Laurinburg, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. A celebration of life will take place Saturday, January 13, 2024- 1:00 p.m. at Quick's Funeral Home -118 Robeson Street - Bennettsville, SC 29512 with interment at Cedar Fall Missionary Baptist Church in Blenheim, SC.
