Ida Ridges was born in Bennettsville, South Carolina the daughter of the late Ellise Brown Williams and Alexander Williams. Her birth took place on June 18, 1945. She was educated in the public schools of Marlboro County, South Carolina. Ida was extremely active in church and community activities. She enjoyed helping others and was an advocate of voter rights and encouraging people to vote in political races to help better our community and the United States. She accepted Christ as her Savior and was strong in her faith. On March 14, 2022 while at the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina, IDA RIDGES, transitioned from labor to reward. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, but not limited to: her loving husband, Billy Ridges, Sr. of the home; her son, Billy Ridges, Jr. of Jackson, TN; her grand-daughter, Kalieesa Ridges, Anderson, SC; along with other close relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, March 20, 2022- 1:00 p.m. at The Berea Baptist Association Convention Center - 1062 Highway 38 South, Bennettsville, SC 29512 with burial in Berea Memorial Gardens. Everyone in attendance is asked to wear face masks and exercise social distancing. Tune into Glory Radio FM 98.5 each evening at 7:30p.m for any updates.
