Mr. George Norman was born in Marlboro County, SC the son of the late Evella Ray Norman and Josh Norman. His birth took place on August 29, 1941. He was educated in the public schools of McColl, SC. Early in life he accepted Christ as his Savior. George was a member of Fletcher Grove Missionary Baptist Church in McColl where he served as Chairman of the Trustees for 26 years. He was also a member of Stoke Hill Lodge No. 361. He retired after working over 40 years at Valley Proteins Trucking in Fayetteville, NC. His marriage was to Gerotha W. Norman. On Saturday, April 16, 2022 while at the McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee in Florence, SC, George Norman responded to the Master's call from labor to reward. He leaves to cherish his memories, but not limited to: his loving wife, Gerotha W. Norman of the home; his children: Robert Michael Norman (Sarah); Cheryl Pipkin, Jerome Pipkin and George Pipkin; his grandson, Michael Dashawn Norman; his brother, Jimmy Norman; his sisters, Virginia Thornton; Evang. Susie Platt and Beulah McLaughlin; along with other close relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Memorial tributes maybe posted here or on Facebook at Quick's Funeral Home. Celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022- 2:00 p.m. at Fletcher Grove Missionary Baptist Church- 8701 Academy Road, Laurinburg, NC 28352 with burial at St. Paul Community Cemetery at 1227 Adamsville Road- McColl, SC 29570. Everyone in attendance is asked to wear face masks and exercise social distancing.
