Derek Alexander Robinson

Derek A. Robinson was born in Lancaster, South Carolina on February 19, 1974. He was the devoted son of Mildred R. Thomas. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Luther Thomas, Sr. He accepted Christ as his Savior early life and was a member of First Washington Baptist Church in Lancaster, SC. After moving to Clio, SC to help care for his loving mother, he attended Old Clio United Methodist Church. Derek graduated in the Class of 1993 from Lancaster High School. He was loyal to his Alma Mater and served as the photographer for Bruins football and basketball teams for Lancaster High School. After graduating from high school, he attended York Technical College in Rock Hill, SC and received an Associate's Degree in Teleproduction. Derek was employed the majority of his life as a Dairy Manager for Food Lion in Indian Land, SC and Lancaster, SC. He was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Lakers. On Thursday,  August, 11, 2022 while at the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC, Derek A. Robinson responded to the Master's Call from labor to reward. He leaves to cherish precious memories, but not limited to: his loving mother, Mildred R. Thomas, Clio SC; his uncle, Leonard Robinson (Sandra); his aunts, Anne R. Cauthen and Shirnetha R. Belk all of Lancaster, SC; god-sister, Jackie Bridges, Cheraw, SC; special friend, Amy McRae, Clio, SC; along with cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 18, 2022- 1: 30 p.m. at Old Clio United Methodist Church located at 2741 Hwy 9 East , Clio, SC 29525. Interment will take place on Friday, August 19, 2022- 1:30 p.m. at Lancaster Memorial Park at 1389 Memorial Park Road, Lancaster, SC 29720. Everyone in attendance is asked to wear face masks and exercise social distancing.
