Mr. Alexander "Bobby" Woods was born on July 6, 1942. He was born the son of Mrs. Lula Mae Billings Woods and the late Mr. Willie Woods, Jr. as their fifth child. Mr. Woods grew up in Hebron, SC and attended the public schools of Marlboro County, SC. He was a school bus driver and an excellent basketball player. He joined Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. There he served as a Trustee, sang on the male and senior choirs. Bobby was also a master brick mason for approximately 45 years. On July 31, 1965, Mr. Woods married Roxina "Sue" McCall Woods and three children were born to their union. He was also an accomplished gospel singer and sang with the Diamond Jubilees gospel group. He was a member of Stoke Hill Lodge No. 361. He also enjoyed watching old westerns on television. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed joking with people. He loved his family dearly and the center of his heart was his mother, Lula Mae Woods. He also had a strong bond with his brother, the late, Leroy Woods, whom he called his Irish twin. The Lord called Mr. Woods Home on Monday, December 26, 2022 at McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee in Florence, SC. He leaves to cherish his memories, but not limited to: his wife, Roxina "Sue" Woods; his chidlren, Susan Woods, Dale Woods, Serena Woods and Bernard McDuffie (Teresa); his mother, Lula Mae Woods; his grandchildren, Delton Woods and Joshua McDuffie; great grandchildren, Makenly McCall and Daylon Roseboro; his siblings: Edith Kendall, Willie Woods, III (Ethel Lee), Helen Mack, Betty Jean Harley (Frank), Leon Woods (Lee Esther), Carolyn Sumter (Sam), Hattie Adams (Reece) and Daryl Woods (Toni); nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends. Service will be held Sunday, January 1, 2023- 1:00 p.m. at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church- 1047 Sandy Grove Church Road - Bennettsville, SC 29512.
